Jersey City, New Jersey

Left Port Washington in the morning to catch the right current in the East River.  It was a bit overcast but still gorgeous.  The Statue of Liberty looks so far away in the pictures, but I swear, she was RIGHT THERE!  We were in a hurry to get to Liberty Landing Marina to meet my sister Amy and her husband Stephan, who spent the afternoon and evening with us at the Marina.  We were able to drink some champagne to celebrate our first time together since they got married in Mexico last month.  We took a very pretty walk along the boardwalk, taking a good look at the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the very beautiful, 911 Memorial, which does a great job of highlighting the horrible empty spot in the skyline, while also showing that the world can still be beautiful, even when such horrific things happen.

For anyone that visits this marina, the Manhattan skyline at night is a total unique marina vista and not to be missed.  Unfortunately, the terrific restaurant there was closed because COVID.
