Sailing from Stocking Island, to Long Island, Bahamas

February 23rd, 2021

We did it!  We broke free of Chicken Harbor, and left the protected and well provisioned Elizabeth Harbor for points South.  It was only a 20 mile sail, and winds weren’t too high, so it was relaxing as upwind sails go.  We left at about 10:30, and sailed the whole way.  We had the hook down in time for cocktail hour, which we have moved to 4 o’clock.  The anchorage was gorgeous, and we had it all to ourselves.  We had a wonderful pork loin with fresh broccoli and fresh coconut bread, with good wine.  This is what we pictured when we imagined our cruising life.
